Description

Classic Italian Pasta alla Bolognese made with slow-simmered ground beef, tomatoes, and aromatic vegetables for a rich, comforting sauce. This authentic-style Bolognese recipe uses milk for a smooth texture and deep flavor, perfect for pairing with tagliatelle or your favorite pasta. Ideal for family dinners, meal prep, or impressing guests with a traditional homemade dish.

Prep the base (soffritto)

Finely chop onion, carrot, and celery.Heat olive oil + butter in a large pan over medium heat, add vegetables and cook for 5–7 minutes until soft.

Add garlic & meat

Add minced garlic and cook 1 minute.Add ground beef and break it apart.Cook until browned and no longer pink.Deglaze (optional but recommended)Add red wine and simmer until mostly evaporated.

Build the sauce

Add crushed tomatoes and beef stock.Season with salt and pepper.Simmer on low heat for 1.5–2 hours (this is key for flavor).Add milk (authentic touch)Stir in milk during the last 30 minutes to soften acidity.

Cook pasta

Boil salted water and cook pasta until al dente.

Combine & serve

Mix pasta with sauce or serve sauce on top.Optional: parmesan + fresh herbs.
